Federal funds still available to support small businesses
Funds are still available from the federal Paycheck Protection Program, designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll during the pandemic. The loan period has been extended from eight to 24 weeks, with more than $130 billion in forgivable loans still available. Applications are due by June 30.
The Federal Reserve has also announced that it is establishing a Main Street Lending Program to support lending to small and medium-sized businesses that were in sound financial condition before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Companies with fewer than 15,000 employees are now eligible to apply. Details on the loan, forms, and agreements can be found here when the program is operational.
Grants for arts participation by people with disabilities
Applications are open now for cycle two of the California Arts Council's Arts and Accessibility grant program, offering support to artists with disabilities and organizations enhancing arts and culture opportunities for people with disabilities. Direct funding for artists is available through this grant. The program is administered in partnership with the National Arts and Disability Center at UCLA. Click here to learn more.
