How can I get inexpensive art for my apartment?

I think that the very best way is to go to Etsy: Shop for anything from creative people everywhere and type in a couple of words that fit the subject matter you are most interested in and then sort by price. That’s where I buy art and sell my own art and I sell almost everything I make for under 200 bucks and lots of other artists have the same idea.

I personally believe that art shouldn’t cost more than a good meal.

Another decent source is Ebay and you can sort things the same way.

Another idea is to buy art books (lots of times over size art books are great) at thrift stores, used book stores, and library sales. Then cut the images out and frame them. A cheap place for frames can be thrift stores, second is probably Art Supplies from Blick Art Materials and also Etsy. Something that’s useful to keep in mind is that you can easily repaint a worn out frame or damaged frame.

Sales at local colleges and graduate programs are a great way to buy emerging artists work at good prices.

Also, Hang Art Hang Resources and Information. has some really inexpensive stuff that is usually great quality.

Also, you should probably think about when you buy and frame art you want to keep it inexpensive by making sure it’s a standard frame size.
