“SNAP!” Bay Area Juried Exhibition & Off-The-Wall Sale

DESCRIPTION:
Snap, Crackle, Pop! Let’s start the New Year right. Snap! is a quick turnaround show filled with bright, delicious artwork hung salon-style and ready to be snapped up by Bay Area art lovers. Submit one piece of work you are certain someone would like to own right now. Make a name for yourself as an important emerging artist, someone to collect, a discovery in the making. To make things simple all works will be priced at $199, with $120 of sales going to the artist.
Arc’s January shows are a try-out for Bay Area artists. Works that sell get our attention. We’ve put several January artists in our curated exhibitions. So bring us your best. We challenge you to make something amazing.
CATEGORIES ACCEPTED
Sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, mixed media, collage, assemblage, ceramics, fiber art, artist book - Original artwork only. No giclee reproductions. (This exhibition cannot accept jewelry, video, film, performance art, installation and works requiring an external electrical source.)
ELIGIBILITY
Only artists residing in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. The Bay Area includes the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and Stanislaus.

Submission is on-line only.
All works priced at $199 retail with $120 of sale going to artist.
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
Submit JPG images sized approximately 4 inches wide x 6 inches long at 300 dpi resolution. In order to upload successfully, your image must be at least 1200 pixels wide. The maximum uploadable file size is 8 megabytes. High-resolution images are requested for printed publicity of accepted works. Works displayed on-line will be reduced to web-standard low resolution by Arc. All images must be submitted in RGB color mode. You will NOT be able to upload images in CMYK. Your JPG file name must be Artist's Last Name, under-score, and Title. Example: Smith_ScratchMarks2.JPG
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
January 5, 2017. Works must be submitted online before midnight Pacific Time to be considered by jurors.
ARTWORK MAXIMUM SIZE
2D works: no more than 20 inches high by 20 inches wide including frame / 3D works: no more than 12 x 12 x 12 inches
ARTWORK PRESENTATION
Artworks must arrive “ready to hang” and be presented professionally. Wire or sawtooth hangers only. No push pins. No magnets. Framed artwork must use black wood, white wood, or natural wood frame.
NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE
Payment of $15 per entry. An entry consists of three submissions of images or pieces. Credit card payment through Paypal only. You do not need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal.
SELECTION OF WORK
The jurors will select works to be on display at the Arc Gallery on 1246 Folsom Street.
NOTIFICATION TO ARTISTS
All artists will be notified by email on Monday, January 9th. If you do not receive an email, please be sure to check your spam folder.
HAND-DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
Artwork must be delivered in person on Thursday, January 26th - between 12 noon and 6PM. We cannot accept shipped artwork for this exhibition.
SALES OF ART
60% of the sale will go to the artists, 40% of the sale will go to Arc. All artwork will be sold off the wall at time of sale and be replaced with another piece. Checks for sold art will be mailed by February 15, 2017.
