Dear___________________,
I’m really not trying to insult you but the letter you sent me is a bunch of gobbledy gook to me that really makes no sense for me at all. I’m not sure even what the product is, if you are trying to sell me something or help me do something. The only reason why I’m writing back is a I get tons of messages like this and I have no idea what you guys want from me. I keep wondering what companies like yours can offer me that are real and tangible and are not asking me for money.
In terms of what I’m doing in terms of my own marketing I can sum it up in a few sentences.
My career as an artist and as an art historian are intertwined. The videos that I have on youtube are free and are meant to make me (hopefully) appear as a credible artist and art historian so I think of Youtube as place where I offer free usable info for anyone who wants to learn about art history and or how to paint. Almost none of the content is a direct pitch to anyone to buy my art or buy my services. In other words at least 9/10s of any of the content and communication I put out on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram my Blog is a share meant to help someone out, if they like my stuff, maybe they’ll buy a painting. But 9 out of 10 free useful things is my formula, what’s yours?
I’m just throwing this out there because I get these canned spammy emails from companies an I have no idea what they want from me.
