Ed HASLAM
“LUCID STATES OF DREAMING”
Ed Haslam’s paintings explore the human disposition through the manipulation of reality. His images are created with a strong relation to truth; informing the viewer that what they are looking at truly exists in their understanding of the world.
However, these truthful forms are heightened or distorted, exploring the deeper elements of human emotion. The most powerful images of reality occur in the lucid state of dreaming and hallucination. Haslam’s work attempts to visually record this imagery which can in turn become a trigger of individual emotions in different viewers. London born and in the early stages of his career, Haslam’s work is progressing extremely fast, and is becoming widely recognised as a rising star in contemporary fine art.
