Artist Connect...
A DIFFERENT DIRECTION: Artist
Kate Short premieres new work in
Bay Area Currents that explores a different direction in her practice. The quietly menacing sound installation
Statis (2014), developed in conversation with juror Dena Beard,
creates harmonics that mirror industrial sounds. A pristine black wall
and shaded windows are the only visual indicators for deep tones that
channel through the gallery.
