Screening of San Francisco Opera's OPERA-IN-AN-HOUR Series
Saturday, April 19 / 1:00pm and 3:00pm / Free / Theater
Opera newcomers will thrill to the captivating music of this beloved
work by Georges Bizet, featuring the alluring but dangerous Gypsy girl
Carmen, the Spanish soldier who loves her and the brave bullfighter who
wins her heart. Created from San Francisco Opera's
performance of Carmen for Families in 2011, this screening will feature
the Company's one hour movie version produced for Bay Area school and
community programs.

2:00 pm - "Koridel" (Carlos Gómez de la Espriella) is the story of a young girl who lives and works in the Venezuelan plains.
2:45 "Cenizas Eternas/Eternal Ashes" (Margarita Cadenas) The people and
the millenarian culture of Yanomami are the framework of this story
about the unbreakable bonds of filiations. "Anna" is played by Patricia
Velásquez.
4:30 pm - "Reverón" (Diego Rísquez), this film is about the relation
between one of the most famous artists in Venezuela, Armando Reveron,
and his muse, Juanita Rios.
