George Carlin, 14 x 11" on 60 lbs sketchbook paper pencil by Kenney Mencher |
I've been asking people to send me pictures of celebrities and heroes that they would like to see me draw so I did this one of George Carlin.
For me George Carlin is a memory of the 1970s when I was a little kid. I remember sitting in front of a black and white television and there was this hippie looking guy. And his face was alive and mobile. Remember the routine he did and it was about how he would sit on the New York City buses and he would hear all the different languages. And then he would imitate each group of people and how they would react to each other and the puns and looks of surprise on their faces. I think I was only 8 years old when I saw that and I still remember it.
