of the Philippines.SF Main Library Exhibit - Stegner Environmental Center – Oct. 19 – March 28
Artist Talk – October 19th at 1:45pm in the Koret Theater.
Created by artist David Tomb, the exhibit features mixed media artwork that celebrates the iconic and critically-endangered Great Philippine Eagle and other endangered birds. Through luminous and colorful paper assemblages that convey the ambiguous and mysterious jungle terrain of the Philippine island of Mindanao, a collection of photographs and educational information, Tomb and Jeepney Projects Worldwide bring attention to the challenges these grand birds face in order to survive and share a sustainable future with an ever-growing Filipino population.
In other news, we've adopted more projects!
The Tufted Jay a dazzling beauty found only in the deepest regions of Mexico’s Sierra Madre Occidential mountain range. Our partner, the Chara Pintas Reserve.
And the Horned Guan, the disturbingly beautiful and rare turkey-like creature found only in the rain forests of south eastern Mexico and Guatemala. Our partner, the El Triunfo Reserve.
You can help by visiting our store. All proceeds go directly to preserving these birds and their habitat.
