Center of Northern California, 1433 Madison Street, Oakland.
Visiting Professor Carol Bier of UC Berkeley
will be our guest speaker for the Opening Reception.
Carol Bier is a Visiting Scholar (2010-12) with the Center for Islamic Studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and Research Associate at The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. (2001-12), where she served as Curator for Eastern Hemisphere Collections (1984-2001). Her current research focuses on the historical development of Islamic patterns as intersections of geometry, art, religion, and philosophy.
