Graphic novels
are everywhere these days. You find them in classrooms, in libraries,
even on the required reading lists of college literature classes. Why is
the world suddenly so fascinated by these
comic books?
In this one-hour talk, Dr. Danièle Archambault will bring you on a guided tour of the world of graphic novels.
Find out about the history of graphic novels and the many genres in
which
they developed. Learn the literary and visual art techniques favored by
an array of authors of various cultures and backgrounds. After the
presentation, you’ll go home with a list of suggested readings (fiction
and non-fiction) and a whole new appreciation
for the increasingly popular world of graphic novels!
