Arts Council Chair's compelling interview on PBS So-Cal
The arts are an essential part of the educational, economic, and
social part of our lives, said Wylie Aitken, the newly elected Chair of
the California Arts Council, during a
televised interview on PBS So-Cal
on March 14, 2013. "Some people think that the arts are nice, are a
nicety," said Aitken. "It's not a nicety. It's a necessity."
2011-12 Annual Report Released
Nominate CA Public Art by April 5th
Each year Americans for the Arts publishes their "Public Art Network
Year in Review" program, the only national program that specifically
recognizes public art projects. Up to 50 projects are selected annually.
The 2013 Public Art Year in Review nomination
process is now open through April 5, so be sure to nominate a
California project.
